On completion of this unit you should be able to:

1. Demonstrate a detailed and critical understanding of different forms of contemporary forced migration and the type of policy responses to these different scenarios
2. Investigate the reasons for, patterns, forms and responses to forced migration and communicate this knowledge effectively and precisely in written and oral forms

You are required to write a 2,500- word case study. For the case study, please follow the following three steps:

1. Choose a case study of one country that demonstrates the multiple ways in which people are forced to migrate from their country of origin.
2. Analyse and discuss both the human rights situation in your chosen country and the nature and scope of forced migration from that country.
3. Examine the extent of asylum applications or cases of human trafficking in the UK from the country of origin chosen.
