Discuss and evaluate the relevance and importance of understanding national culture in the context of international management. Assess the implications of this understanding in supporting managers in successfully managing global virtual teams in particular in the international environment. As part of your discussions explore the notion of cultural differences in relation to: leadership, motivation, communication, negotiation and decision making.

In responding to this task, you will need to apply the theories of Hofstede and other key cross-cultural theorists such as Trompenaars and Hall plus others that you may have read in your research. You will need to ensure that you evaluate both similarities and differences in theories and definitions and consider their implications for practice in leading global virtual teams to be successful.
